  • Detroit to Las Vegas: Everything You Need To Know

With more than 41 million visitors each year, Las Vegas, Nevada, is one of the United States’ top-rated cities. Exploring the Strip is an experience itself. Climb aboard a hop-on-hop-off guided bus tour, watch the Fountains at the Bellagio with over 1,000 fountains timed to lights and music, or enjoy one of Cirque du Soleil's electrifying performances.

Home to over 100 casinos in the greater Las Vegas area, gamblers have plenty of places to try their luck. Thrill-seekers can take a helicopter ride (the nighttime views of the Strip are spectacular) and fill their need for speed in a Lamborghini supercar. Or visit the Stratosphere, the tallest freestanding observation tower in the U.S., for a heart-pounding coaster ride 866 feet off the ground.

Take a break from rolling the dice to check out Las Vegas’ unique sights, including the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign and historic Freemont Street’s five-block entertainment district. Snap a pic with “The King” Elvis Presley and other celebrities at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

But Las Vegas isn’t just for adults. Keep the kids entertained at the Linq Hotel’s High Roller observation wheel, Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. at Treasure Island, and stop by Hershey’s Chocolate World for a sweet tour (look for the Statue of Liberty made out of almost 800 pounds of chocolate).

Travel outside the city limits to Red Rock Canyon’s Scenic Drive ( 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip) for a 13-mile tour of the Mojave Desert’s breathtaking natural beauty. Or take a day trip to visit the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world, by car (about a 4 ½ hour drive).
